Safety Training Program:

  1. We have a full time safety coordinator on staff. He is responsible for implementing our safety policy and providing a safe and healthful working environment for all company employees and subcontractors. He performs onsite equipment and worksite inspections and audits, and conducts weekly on site safety meetings, and oversees all Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.
  2. Our employees receive initial 24 hour MSHA training with an annual 8 hour MSHA refresher as required by Mine Safety and Health Administration. They also receive H2S training, First-Aid and CPR training, Respiratory Fit Testing, and Hearing Conservation Testing annually. Upon hire employees receive the OSHA 10 hour Construction Course. This is required by several of our clients who are members of the North Dakota Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety (ECCS). As of January 1, 2003, our safety plan has 100% approval by National Compliance Management Service Inc. (NCMS), which is a Third Party Auditor for ECCS.
  3. In addition to the training listed above, employees receive annual orientation and hazard training for certain clients such as Dakota Gasification Company, Falkirk Mine, Great River Energy, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and Marathon.
  4. We have a substance abuse policy thru a consortium that enables us to comply with all DOT Drug and Alcohol testing requirements. Our employees are required to have annual, random, post accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol screening.
